Preston University participated in the ‘2nd All Pakistan Inter-University and Inter-Collegiate Quiz Competition’ organized by Government College University (GCU) Lahore from May 13-14, 2014. The mega event was organized by GCU as part of its 150th year celebration. Thirty four teams from institutions of eminence from across Pakistan participated in the event. Preston University was represented in the competition by Prestonians Humayun Shuja and Aymen Habib.

In all thirty teams participated in the referenced competition.  Eminent among the universities which took part in the event were University of Agriculture Faisalabad, GCU Faisalabad, UET Lahore, Punjab University Main Campus Lahore, Preston University Islamabad, King Edward Medical University Lahore, Center for Research in Microbiology, Punjab University Lahore, Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore, University of Gujrat, CECOS Peshawar, Kinnaird College Lahore, Islamia College Peshawar, Sind University Tando Jam, UCL Lahore, Services institute of Medical Sciences Lahore, Sardar Bahadur Khan University Quetta, Superior College Lahore, National College Lahore.

The All Pakistan Inter University Quiz Competition consisted of several rounds covered areas such as Religion, Pakistan History, Current Affairs, Geography, Sports, Literature, Greek Mythology and visual rounds. The first and the final rounds of the competition were held at the famous Bukhari Auditorium at GC University, Lahore. Maintaining their outstanding winning record the students of Preston University Humayun Shuja and Aymen Habib grabbed second position in the competition. Preston University was awarded a trophy and souvenir. Celebrity and social worker of national renown, Ibrar ul Haq presided over the prize distribution ceremony of the event as Chief Guest. The top four teams which participated in final round were titled as ‘Brains of Pakistan’.

The Chancellor of Preston University, Dr. Abdul Basit immensely appreciated the outstanding performance of the team of Preston University in All Pakistan Inter University Quiz Competition organized by GCU Lahore. He congratulated the team members on their remarkable achievement.
