Preston University and the Society of Asian Civilizations (SAC) Pakistan organized ‘Prof. Dani Memorial Lecture.’ The event was held at Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai Auditorium, Islamabad on June 20, 2011. Archaeologists, Educationists and intellectuals of eminence participated in the lecture. Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Vice Chancellor, Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad graced the event as Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Dr. Abdul Basit, Chancellor Preston University, Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Director Taxila Institute of Ancient Civilizations, Quaid-e-Azam University shed light on the life and achievements of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hasan Dani. In their address the speakers maintained that Dr. Dani was a historian, archaeologist and educationist of international renown. They said that Dr. Dani was a legend whose contribution towards the study of history, archaeology and civilizations has no parallel.
A book launching ceremony was also held on the occasion. A book titled “Travelogue on Turkey” written by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Jaffri was launched. |
