The 43rd meeting of Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASAR) of Preston University, Kohat was held in March 2012. The Vice Chancellor of Preston University, Dr. Muhammad Anwar Hassan chaired the referenced meeting. Members of BASAR comprising of senior faculty members of Preston University, and a representative each from Allama Iqbal Open University and Mohyuddin Islamic University participated in the meeting. The Chair welcomed the BASAR members to the 43rd meeting of the Board and declared the meeting open. Secretary BASAR, Dr. Allah Wadhayo Baloch then informed the house that the minutes of 42nd BASAR meeting were circulated among the members immediately after the approval of the Chairman. Since no observations were received from any of the members, Secretary BASAR requested the house to approve the minutes of the 42nd meeting. The minutes were unanimously approved by the house. During the course of the 43rd BASAR meeting Synopsis of some scholars, pursuing their studies in various disciplines, and progress report on M. Phil and PhD programs was presented for review of the Chair and members of BASAR. Synopsis of some of the scholars were approved, some were approved with amendments and some deferred with advice for resubmission duly implementing the recommendations made by the house. On the occasion, the Chair expressed concern over non-submission of progress reports by some supervisors, heads of department or Dean. This, he observed, has been happening for quite some time. The Chair requested all BASAR members to submit their progress reports on time. He thanked all the members for their invaluable input. Their being no other issue to discuss the meeting was adjourned.
