Preston Organizes Launch off Dr. M. Rashid Seyal's Book "Faith in the Unseen"

 

Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Mr. Ahsan Iqbal graces the event as Chief Guest. Highly appreciates Dr. Seyal’s efforts to pen his thoughts on a vital topic such as "Faith in the Unseen".

A book launching ceremony was held at Preston University, Islamabad in March 2014 to introduce Dr. Muhammad A. Rashid Seyal’s book titled “Faith in the Unseen”. The event was jointly organized by Preston University and the Archaeological and Historical Association of Pakistan. Eminent educationists, scholars, intellectuals and senior faculty and students of Preston University participated in the event in large number. Mr. Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minster for Planning and Development, Government of Pakistan chaired the event as Chief Guest.

In his keynote address on the occasion, Mr. Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Planning and Development at the outset expressed his profound gratitude to Dr. Abdul Basit, Chancellor Preston University and Dr. Ghazanfar Mehdi, Chairman, archaeological and Historical Association of Pakistan for inviting him to chair the launching ceremony of Dr. Muhammad A. Rashid Seyal’s book titled ‘Faith in the Unseen’. He particularly appreciated the efforts of Preston University, which, he said, besides promoting the cause of higher education in Pakistan has also contributed significantly towards national development by organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences, on burning national issues, and through high profile literary activities such as the book launching ceremony. Venting his views on Dr. Seyal’s book, Mr. Ahsan Iqbal said that the topic of the book itself is vital and pertinent to the interest of every Muslim living across this universe. This, he said, is because Faith in the context of religion is very defining for a person. He said it places the person in a belief system that develops into a way of life and provides its own unique system of logic to explain the phenomena of life around us. Faith in God, Mr. Ahsan Iqbal said, enables humans to be thankful for the blessings they enjoy, and to be patient when confronted with problems, for they firmly believe that nothing can happen without God’s will. Ultimately, faith enables them to develop a deeper vision, one which goes beyond the sight of their eyes and the signals of their minds, he said. Mr. Ahsan Iqbal highly appreciated Dr. Seyal’s efforts to pen his thoughts on a vital topic such as ‘Faith in the Unseen’.  

Eminent among the speakers who spoke on the occasion were Dr. Muhammad A. Rashid Seyal, author of the book, Eminent Political Analyst Lt. Gen. (R) Hamid Gul, Dr. Abdul Basit, Chancellor Preston University, and Dr. Ghazanfar Mehdi, Chairman Archaeological and Historical Association of Pakistan. They immensely appreciated the contribution of Dr. Muhammad A. Rashid Seyal in enlightening all his readers in general and the Muslims in particular about various aspects of Islam through his thought provoking writings.
