PINSAT Students to Attend International Summer

Camp Organized by NCNST-China

The National Centre for Nano Science and Technology (NCNST), Beijing, China is organizing an International Summer Camp for Nanotechnology from. The referenced Summer Camp is scheduled to begin on September 2, and conclude on September 12. 2015. NCNST China has extended an invitation to PINSAT to send a select group of its students to attend the Summer Camp. NCNST has undertaken to bear all expenses relating to boarding, lodging, and other local expenses. The cost on Islamabad–Beijing return airfare will however been borne by the students themselves. Preston University, in fact, has sponsored half of the travel expenses of the students.

NCNST, Beijing, China has world class research facilities in the field of nanotechnology. It has a very vigorous research team that includes many outstanding scientists who have attained international recognition for their scientific contributions. The main research areas being pursued at NCNST include system integration of nanostructures and devices, standardization of nanotechnology and manufacturing of nano scale materials, biological effects and safety of nanostructures, nanofabrication, manufacturing of nanostructures and analytical technology. NCNST, Beijing intensely collaborates with industries of China in the application of Nanotechnology in many areas, particularly energy, clean drinking water, healthcare, cancer treatment, including other strategic areas.

Ten students from PINSAT were selected on merit to participate in the Summer Camp.As part of the Workshop, the students will be visiting the world class laboratories of NCNST and will be able to get practical training on some state-of-the art equipment in the field of nanotechnology. They will also have the opportunity to interact with senior faculty and researchers of NCNST.
