Preston University organizes inter-departmental Poster Competition to mark the 15th Anniversary of HEC

 An inter-departmental Poster Competition was held at the Islamabad Campus of Preston University. The referenced competition was organized by the university to mark the 15th Anniversary of the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi, Deputy Mayor Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) presided over the prize distribution ceremony of the competition as Chief Guest. Mr. Sajid Munir, Director Lok Virsa Islamabad and Mr. Tayyab Nawaz Malik, eminent businessman and social worker   were the Guests of Honor. The competition was adjudicated by Syed Najam-ul-Hassan Kazmi (TI), a miniature artist of eminence.

 

The poster designed by Ms. Naveen Shabab, student of BS Biotechnology program, was adjudged the best and was awarded first position. Second position was awarded to the poster designed by Ms. Saira Siddiqui, student of BSCS program. The poster designed by Ms. Mehwish Iftikhar, also of BSCS program was awarded third position in the Interdepartmental Poster Competition.

 

In his brief address on the occasion, the Chief Guest, Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi, Deputy Mayor Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) expressed his gratitude to the Chancellor of Preston University, Dr. Abdul Basit for inviting him to preside over the prize distribution ceremony of the Poster Competition organized by the university to mark the 15th Anniversary of the Higher Education Commission (HEC). He praised the efforts of Preston University to provide its students an opportunity to demonstrate their talent in co-curricular and extracurricular activities, besides education. Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi assured of his full support to Preston in all its endeavors directed towards rounding off the personalities of its students through organization of such activities. He congratulated the winners of the competition and appreciated their outstanding performance in the Poster Competition.

 

Briefly speaking on the  occasion, the judge of the competition Syed Najam-ul-Hassan Kazmi profoundly eulogized the talent of the participating students. He particularly commended the painting prowess of the students who won first, second and third position in the competition.

 

Earlier, in his welcome address Dr. Allah Wadhayo Baloch, Registrar Preston University expressed his gratitude to the Chief Guest, Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi, Deputy Mayor MCI for gracing the occasion by his distinguished presence. On behalf of Chancellor Preston University, Dr. Abdul Basit he also thanked the Guests of Honor Mr. Sajid Munir and  Mr. Tayyab Nawaz Malik,  and Syed Najam-ul- Hassan Kazmi, judge of the Poster Competition, and the other distinguished guests and students, present on the occasion, for their participation in the prize distribution ceremony.  

 

In his vote of thanks, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Daud Awan, Dean Computer Science Preston University thanked the Chief Guest, Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi, Deputy Mayor MCI; Guests of honor, Mr. Sajid Munir, Director Lok Virsa and Mr. Tayyab Nawaz Malik, and judge of the competition Syed Najam-ul-Hassan Kazmi, for their presence at the prize distribution ceremony. He also expressed his profound gratitude to the sponsor of the event, Somtom Islamabad, a technology-based internet media company for their support in the organization of the Poster Competition.   

 

Later, prizes were distributed among the winners of the competition by the Chief Guest, Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi, Deputy Mayor Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI).
